Samsung Galaxy S24 Users Face Subscription Charges for AI Features

If you buy a Galaxy S24 before July 30 and sign in to WPS, you can use certain AI features for free for a week.

But after July 30, you’ll have to pay to keep using these AI features. The price ranges from 15 yuan (around Rs 170) per month to 118 yuan (about Rs 1,300) per year.

Samsung is teaming up with WPS to make this change. It means they’ll start charging for some AI features.

However, not all partnerships, like with Meitu and Baidu, are doing this. Some AI features that don’t rely on other apps won’t be affected by these changes.

Samsung and WPS haven’t given details about this new payment system yet.

The Galaxy S24 comes with special AI features. These features make things easier for users, like helping with typing, translating, recording, note-taking, and taking better photos.

In China, many of these features are made by local companies like Baidu. For example, Baidu’s Wenxin language model helps with calls, translations, and searching using gestures.

Samsung has also added a new feature called Advanced Note Assist in Samsung Notes. This helps users be more productive.

It can translate, summarize, and organize content. Plus, it can turn speech into text in real-time, translate into different languages, and tell different speakers apart.

Some special AI features like Live Translation are still free for now. We’ll have to wait and see if Samsung starts charging for more AI features later on.
