Fast Food chain McDonald’s will hire 5000 Indians amid Layoffs

Companies around the world are laying off or planning to lay off employees. Meanwhile, on Monday, fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s India (North and East)

announced plans to double the number of outlets in the next three years and hire around 5,000 people.

A top company official said McDonald’s plans to double the number of its restaurants in the northern and eastern regions to 300 in the next three years.

During this, about 5,000 people will be appointed.

India’s largest McDonald’s restaurant opens in Guwahati

As part of its expansion phase, McDonald’s opened its largest restaurant in India in Guwahati on Monday.

This restaurant is spread over 6,700 square feet, and 220 people can sit together.

The company wants to expand its network in the states

McDonald’s India (North and East) Managing Director Rajeev Ranjan said that the company is growing fast, and in this sequence, it wants to expand its network in the states.

When asked about the ongoing legal dispute with McDonald’s old partner, he said,

“Leaving all the issues and problems behind, we are focusing on growing our business.”

New partner for operation in northern and eastern parts

In 2020, McDonald’s selected MMG Group Chairman Sanjeev Agarwal as the new partner for operations in the north and eastern parts of the country,

taking a 50 per cent stake from its old partner Vikram Bakshi. At the same time, the partner for western and southern India is Westlife Group.
