The previous deadline was September 14, 2023, but it has now been pushed to December 14, 2023.

UIDAI issued a notice on September 6 to announce this extension. They mentioned that because of the positive response from residents, they’ve decided to give everyone more time to update their Aadhaar cards without any charges.

So, from September 15 to December 14, you can update your Aadhaar card for free using the myAadhaar portal.

If you have an Aadhaar card that’s 10 years old or more, the government recommends updating it.

To do this online, you can visit the myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in website. Updating your Aadhaar card on this portal is free until December 14.

However, if you choose to update it at an Aadhaar center, there will be a charge of Rs 25.

To update your Aadhaar on the portal, you’ll need to upload documents that prove your identity and address.

Here are the steps to update your Aadhaar card online:

1. Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

2. Log in to the portal and select ‘Update Name/Gender/Date of Birth and Address’

3. Click on ‘Update Aadhaar Online’

4. Choose ‘Address’ from the list of demographic options and click ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’

5. Upload scanned copies and enter the required demographic information.

6. A number called SRN will be generated; keep it for tracking.

7. After verification, your Aadhaar will be updated, and you’ll receive confirmation through SMS.

If you have any questions or face issues, you can call the UIDAI toll-free number, 1947, 24 hours a day.

They can provide information about your Aadhaar enrollment or update status, PVC card status, or send you information via SMS.
