Samsung Drops Google’s AI for Chinese lineup in Galaxy S24

Samsung made a big decision that affects Google. The Galaxy S24 Series in China won’t have Google’s Gemini AI; instead, it will use Baidu’s Ernie AI.

Samsung chose Baidu because Google isn’t widely used in China.

The Arnie AI on the Galaxy S24 phones in China will offer real-time call translation, summarization, and text features, similar to Galaxy AI.

This move creates tough competition for GPT-4. The Galaxy S24 phones in China will also feature a localized version of Google’s circle-to-search function.

Samsung and Baidu mention that Arni AI will enhance Samsung Note Assistant with better understanding and generation capabilities.

Baidu introduced Ernie 4.0 last October, which competes strongly with GPT-4.

Now, let’s talk about the Galaxy S24 Series. Samsung is releasing three smartphones: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

These phones will have a fantastic Quad HD+ AMOLED display. The top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

All three devices have an excellent camera setup, with the S24 Ultra having a remarkable 200-megapixel main camera. The S24 and S24+ feature a 50-megapixel main camera.

Additionally, all these Samsung phones include a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies, and their batteries support fast charging.
