Redmi launched its Redmi 12 5G with Powerful Processor in India

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 12 series in India, offering two exciting models: Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G.

The Redmi 12 4G comes with the powerful MediaTek Helio G88 processor and is available in two variants – 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 12 5G boasts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and offers three configurations – 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage,

and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, making it the first phone in India to use the Snapdragon Gen 2 processor.

This variant also marks the debut of a 5G-enabled Redmi device in the country. Both phones support virtual RAM for enhanced performance.

Pricing and Availability

Redmi 12 4G starts at an attractive price of Rs 8,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs 10,999 for the 6GB RAM variant, complete with bank and exchange offers.

Available in three elegant colors – Jade Black, Moonstone Silver, and Pastel Blue, the Redmi 12 4G will be sold exclusively on Flipkart.

On the other hand, the Redmi 12 5G starts at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM variant, Rs 12,499 for the 6GB RAM variant, and Rs 14,999 for the top-end 8GB RAM variant with 256GB storage.

These prices also include bank and exchange offers, making the phone even more appealing. The Redmi 12 5G will be available for purchase from August 4, on both Amazon and retail stores.

Specifications of Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G

Both devices feature a large 6.79-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 450 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass.

Running on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, these phones ensure a smooth and enjoyable user experience.

The Redmi 12 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 processor, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

In comparison, the Redmi 12 5G runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, with up to 8GB of RAM and a generous 256GB of storage. Both devices support virtual RAM to optimize performance.

In terms of photography, the Redmi 12 4G boasts a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel secondary lens, and a 2-megapixel third lens.

The front camera sports an 8-megapixel lens. Meanwhile, the Redmi 12 5G also features a 50-megapixel primary camera but with two 2-megapixel lenses as additional rear cameras.

The front camera remains an 8-megapixel shooter.

The phones are backed by a robust 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Other features include WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with USB Type-C.

Additionally, both devices come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and boast an IP53 rating for water resistance.
