The Income Tax Department recently alerted citizens about this issue. Demographic details such as name, date of birth, and gender are crucial for linking the two documents.

Biometric Verification for Demographic Mismatch

In cases where a demographic mismatch occurs, biometric-based verification is available to facilitate the linking of PAN and Aadhaar.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for Aadhaar-PAN linking from March 31, 2023, to June 30, 2023, as per the announcement on the Income Tax Department’s website.
