Maruti Suzuki launches Fronx SUV in India: Check Price, Variants & More

Maruti Suzuki has released the Fronx crossover in India.

The highly anticipated crossover has been positioned between the Baleno and Brezza models in the Maruti Suzuki lineup.

The Fronx is available in five trims: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. It also comes in five monotone and four dual-tone colour options.

Exterior

The Fronx features a large hexagonal grille separated by a chrome bar and sleek-looking LED headlamps with DRLs at the front.

The side profile of the car has a sloping roofline, giving it a coupe-like appeal.

The Fronx is supported on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and has a full-width LED tail bar, a large skid plate, and an integrated spoiler on the roof at the back.

Interior

The cabin of the Fronx features a black and wine interior theme with faux leather upholstery.

It also has a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Fronx is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad positioned in front of the gear lever and underneath the aircon controls, and connected-to-car technology that allows the vehicle to connect to a mobile app and a smartwatch.

Safety

Safety features of the Fronx include six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist with rollover mitigation, ISOFIX, and brake assist.

Powertrain, transmission

In addition to the Baleno’s 1.2-liter petrol engine, which produces 89bhp and 113Nm of torque, the Fronx is also available with a 1.0-liter booster jet petrol engine that generates 99bhp and 147.6Nm of torque.

The 1.2-liter engine comes with a five-speed manual transmission or an optional AMT, whereas the 1.0-liter engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter.

Price, competition

The starting price of Maruti Fronx is Rs. 7.46 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe offers the Fronx with a monthly subscription fee starting from Rs. 17,378.

In the market, it will face competition from vehicles like Mahindra XUV400, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
