Great news for train travelers! Soon, you won’t have to worry about waiting for tickets.
Indian Railways is working to make sure that everyone gets confirmed tickets, so you can reach your destination comfortably.
Right now, about 800 crore people travel by train each year, and not everyone gets a confirmed ticket. But by 2027, the goal is to provide confirmed tickets for all passengers.
Currently, there are 10748 trains operating, serving different types of passengers. The plan is to operate 3000 additional trains to accommodate 1000 crore passengers annually.
This means more confirmed tickets for everyone. The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, mentioned that Indian Railways is actively increasing track capacity and the number of trains to make travel more convenient for everyone.
In the last seven months, a total of 390.20 crore passengers traveled by train. Most of them were in non-AC classes like sleeper and general, making up 95.3% of the total passengers.
Only 4.7% traveled in AC classes. The efforts are underway to improve the travel experience for all, making it easier and more comfortable.
