Once again, the Ola S1 electric scooter is making headlines, but this time for a positive reason.
Recently, a Jodhpur resident named Anjali Pal was a victim of a fraudulent packer and mover company while she was relocating her scooter to Dehradun.
Unbeknownst to Anjali, the thieves were attempting to transport her electric scooter to another state.
After becoming suspicious of the situation, Anjali reported the incident to a local police station and filed an FIR.
However, she didn’t stop there. Anjali also turned to Twitter to request Ola’s assistance in tracking down her scooter.
In addition, she sent emails to all of the email addresses associated with the electric scooter manufacturer.

With the help of Ola Electric, the real-time location of the scooter was tracked and shared with the police.
This enabled the police to locate the scooter and return it to Anjali a month later.
Anjali expressed her gratitude towards the police department and the team at Ola Electric on Twitter once she was reunited with her scooter.
Anjali’s clever use of Ola Electric’s GPS tracking to locate her stolen scooter and share the information with the police proved to be beneficial.
However, this tactic was not aligned with the intentions of the thieves, who were unable to comprehend the technology being used against them.
This incident highlights the significance of GPS technology, which constantly records real-time location coordinates and stores them in Ola Electric’s server.
Meanwhile, the thieves were completely unaware of the background activity of the GPS.
It’s worth noting that all models of the Ola S1 electric scooter come equipped with this technology.
Many modern vehicles come equipped with GPS as a standard feature, as it can assist with navigation, geo-fencing, and other functions.
In situations like Anjali’s, owners can request the location coordinates of their vehicle from the manufacturer or GPS service provider.
