This new program aims to make the arrival process smoother, helping passengers navigate customs more easily.

To avail of this service, the passport must be valid for a minimum of six months.

Indian passport holders are required to have a valid US visa, green card, or European Union or UK residency for at least six months.

How much will be the charge?

Starting from 2017, people who qualify have been receiving visas upon arrival at UAE airports.

Normally, the visa is stamped on the passport at the immigration counter after they get off the plane. Now, Emirates airline is offering a new option for its customers.

They can arrange for their visas in advance, making their arrival smoother.

The cost for this service by Emirates is $47 (Rs 3894), plus a service charge of $18.50 (Rs 1533).

It’s important to note that the approval of visas depends on the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs.

66 percent share in tourism

UAE has oil, but it has also focused on developing tourism as a key part of its economy.

Dubai is the fifth most sought-after tourist destination in the Middle East, and tourism makes up 66 percent of the country’s economy.

Indians interested in visiting Dubai need a visa, which can be obtained for either 30 or 90 days for tourism or business purposes.

The visa application process can be completed through a travel agency or with the sponsorship of a UAE entity.
