Easily Track Your lost Mobile Phone via Government Website (See How?)

In an effort to assist individuals in locating their lost or stolen mobile phones, the government is set to launch a new website.

The website, sancharsaathi.gov.in, will provide a platform for tracking lost or stolen mobile phones.

This portal is scheduled to go live on May 17, coinciding with World Telecom and Information Society Day.

Track and Recover Your Lost or Stolen Mobile Phone

The newly unveiled Sanchar Saathi portal aims to aid people in locating their misplaced mobile devices.

Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will officially introduce this user-friendly portal on Wednesday.

The portal will be accessible nationwide, catering to lost or stolen mobile phones from all telecom circles. However, at present, it only serves the Delhi and Mumbai circles.

Impressive Results So Far

Since its inception, the portal has proven to be effective.

It has facilitated the blocking of approximately 470,000 lost or stolen mobile phones.

Moreover, over 240,000 mobile phones have been successfully tracked through the portal, with around 8,000 phones being recovered as a result.

Additional Features for User Convenience

In addition to tracking lost devices, the portal allows users to access their SIM card numbers.

Should they discover someone using their SIM card without permission, they can promptly block the unauthorized usage by providing their identification details.

Introducing the Sanchar Saathi Portal

The Sanchar Saathi portal has been developed with the objective of enhancing mobile subscribers’

security and creating awareness about citizen-centric initiatives undertaken by the government.

It enables fellow citizens to obtain information about mobile connections issued in their name,

request disconnection of undesired connections, trace lost mobile phones, and verify the authenticity of new or second-hand mobile phones.

The portal comprises various modules such as CEIR and TAFCOP to provide comprehensive assistance to users.
