Citroen C3 2023 introduces New ‘Shine’ Variant at Rs 7.6 Lakh (Check Features)

“Citroen is introducing exciting updates to the Citroen C3 hatchback, including a new top variant called ‘Shine’ and much-needed safety feature upgrades.”

Since its launch in July 2022, the Citroen C3 hatchback has become the best-selling car in India for the brand, largely due to its affordable price tag.

However, despite its popularity, the C3 hatchback lacks some essential features.

“In response to customer feedback, the automaker has taken steps to address their concerns by introducing new features in the C3 model.”

Launch of Citroen C3 Shine Top Variant

“Citroen has recently introduced a new top-spec trim called ‘Shine’ for the C3 model, which is priced from Rs 7.6 lakh (ex-showroom) and positioned above the Feel variant.”

While the Citroen C3 Feel variant boasts several segment-first trendsetting features such as a 10″ touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it lacks certain quality-of-life features that were overlooked.

Notable omissions in the Citroen C3 variant were electrically adjustable ORVM, rear parking camera, day/night IRVM, 15-inch diamond-cut alloys, front fog lamps, rear skid plates, rear wiper & washer, and rear defogger.

Now, the 2023 Citroen C3 Shine variant includes all the features that were previously missing in the Feel variant.

In addition to the aforementioned upgrades, the Shine model also comes with the MY CITROEN CONNECT app, featuring 35 smart connectivity features.

New Features in 2023 Citroen C3 Update

Citroen has made updates to its C3 hatchback for MY2023, including the addition of extra safety features.

In addition to the standard dual airbags, ABS, EBD, and rear parking sensors, the C3 now also comes with TPMS, ESP, and hill assist for enhanced safety.

The earlier top model of Citroen C3 had limited safety features, including only two airbags, ABS, EBD, speed alert, child-seat anchor points, and rear parking sensors.

However, the updated model now offers additional safety features such as TPMS, ESP, and hill assist (HA).

“The new TPMS feature in the Citroen C3 provides real-time information on tire pressure, helping drivers maintain optimum performance, reduce tire wear, and prolong mileage before needing replacement, adding value to the overall driving experience.”

“The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) in the Citroen C3 works in conjunction with ABS to counteract slippage, understeer, or oversteer, providing added safety by automatically intervening without driver input, ensuring a safer journey.”

“The hill assist feature in the Citroen C3 is incredibly useful when starting the vehicle on an inclined terrain.

It holds the brake even after the driver takes their foot off the pedal, preventing the vehicle from rolling backward and providing added convenience and safety while moving forward on a hill.”

Saurabh Vatsa, the Brand Head of Citroën India, expressed his excitement about the launch of the new Shine variant of the Citroën C3, stating, “With the latest features that customers in this segment are aspiring for,

and the new Citroën Connectivity 1.0 on board, this hatch with a twist will truly be the perfect all-round package for the young and progressive customer in this competitive segment.”

The car comes with a single 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine available in two states of tune – naturally aspirated and turbocharged.

The former delivers 80 bhp and 115 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the latter produces 109 bhp and 190 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
