Apple brings 5G Update for iPhone to use Airtel, Jio 5G

Apple has announced that 5G network support will be available on iPhone in India (How can I activate 5G on my iPhone in India).

Customers with Jio and Airtel connections will be able to use it from 11:30 pm on December 13.

Recently iOS 16.2 was released, with which Indian users can take advantage of faster network speeds in areas with 5G support.

Let us tell you that the iPhone introduced in 2020 or later will support 5G, which includes the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 series, as well as the iPhone SE 2022.

If you are using a 4G sim and data, then you will start getting this service.

Which iPhones are 5G compatible?

  • iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (2022)

Only above Phones are compatible.

How can I activate 5G on my iPhone in India?

If you are an Airtel or Jio user, you first have to go to Settings on your iPhone. After that, go to General, then tap on Software Update.

Here you will see the option to download iOS 16.2. You can download the update after accepting all the terms and conditions.

When the update is installed on your iPhone, the phone will automatically turn on.

Then, you can see a new 5G status icon in the notification. If it doesn’t, you must go back to the Settings app and tap on the Cellular > Cellular Data option.

If you are using two active SIMs, you must select which SIM you want to use, 5G.

You can enable the default Auto mode if you want the iPhone to adjust your connection speed to save battery power dynamically.

In this mode, the iPhone will switch to 4G LTE when you do nothing and do not need high-speed data.
