WhatsApp introduces New Feature for Android users to Add and Edit Contacts within the app

San Francisco: Whatsapp, which is owned by Meta, has recently launched a new feature on Android called “manage contacts within the app”.

With this feature, users can easily add and edit contacts without having to exit the app.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature to add and edit contacts within WhatsApp on Android is currently available to some beta testers who are using the latest beta version, and it will be gradually rolled out to more users in the coming days.

To check if the feature is available on their devices, users can simply open the contact list within WhatsApp and look for the “New Contact” option.

Users can determine if the feature is available to them by checking if the “New Contact” option is visible.

If it is, then the feature is accessible and they can add new contacts without exiting WhatsApp.

Additionally, according to the report, users can also add unknown numbers to their contact list when they communicate with others on WhatsApp without having to switch to the contacts app.

According to reports, WhatsApp is in the process of developing a new feature that will enable users to share their status updates on Facebook stories directly from the app without the need to exit it.

Previously, users had the ability to share their status updates to Facebook stories, but they were required to manually share each update every time they posted something new, which added an extra step to the process.

With this new feature, certain status updates selected by the user may be automatically shared to Facebook stories if the option is enabled, eliminating the need for manual sharing.
