This caused problems for users for a while, but now users have started using their favorite platforms again.
At the same time, Meta added some new things to Instagram. Let me share those with you.
Edit Message: Instagram introduced a new feature for users who send direct messages (DM).
Now, those sending messages on Instagram can edit any message within the next 15 minutes after sending it.
To do this, users need to tap and hold the message they want to edit. Then, click on the edit option in the context menu. After that, click on the desired edit and then click on Done.
Pin Chats: Another new thing on Instagram is called “Edit Chat.” With this, people can stick any three chatboxes to the top of their Insta chatbox.
These chatboxes can be for one person or a group. To do this, just swipe left on the chat you want to keep at the top in your Instagram messages.
After that, you’ll see three choices: Pin, Mute, and Delete. Choose “Pin” to keep the chat at the top.
Read Receipt: Instagram now has a “read receipt” feature, similar to WhatsApp. If you turn it off, the person sending you a message won’t know if you’ve read their DM or message.
This feature has been in WhatsApp for a while. To turn it off or on in Instagram, follow these steps:
Open Instagram > Click on the profile icon in the bottom right corner > Click on the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner > Go to Settings and Privacy > Scroll down and tap on Messages and Story Replies > Click on Show Read Receipts > Now, use the toggle to turn read receipts on or off.
Chat Themes: Now, you can make your DM window look different by choosing your favorite themes.
Instagram added special options, such as new themes like Love, Lollipop, Avatar, etc., to the app.
