US working hard to reduce Visa Wait Time for Indians

There is good news for those who want to go to America. If waiting for a visa appointment in the United States is troubling, you can soon get relief.

UL is considering reducing the waiting time for visa processing.

A State Department spokesperson in the US said on Wednesday that the US is making every effort to reduce the waiting time for visa interview appointments in India as quickly as possible.

State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters at his daily news conference,

“Visa processing is recovering faster than anticipated, and in the coming year, we expect to reach pre-pandemic levels.”

Most student visas issued in 2022

He said the US issued more student visas in the fiscal year 2022 than in any year since 2016.

Its embassies and consulates in India, in particular, have broken their records in the number of student visas issued in a financial year.

“We issued approximately 1,25,000 student visas. We recognize that some applicants may still face extended visa wait times.

We are working to reduce visa interview appointment wait times in India and around the world as quickly as possible,” he added.

Making every effort to reduce this includes first-time tourist visa applicants”.

Efforts will also be made to provide legal travel facilities to non-immigrant passengers

Responding to a question, Price said he understands the frustration of those who have to wait a long time.

It is a priority for the Secretary and the Department that we do everything we can to reduce that backlog and ultimately reduce wait times.

We are also committed to taking care of national security.”

This is important for the American economy

“And we know that timely visa issuance is essential to the US economy and the Administration’s goal of family reunification.

We have made great progress in overcoming pandemic-related restrictions and workforce challenges.

However, we are still facing difficulties in visa services,” Price said. I am working on it.

Recruitment of foreign service personnel has also doubled

He said the demand for visa services has increased as countries worldwide have eased pandemic restrictions, and people want to travel to the US.

“We are successfully reducing visa waiting times around the world.

We have also doubled the recruitment of US Foreign Service personnel to perform this important work,” he said in response to a question.

Visa processing faster than anticipated is recovering, and in the coming year, we expect to reach pre-pandemic levels”.
