Upcoming 400cc segment bikes in India (Price & Specs)

Hero MotoCorp is bringing out a big bike called Maverick 440. It will be available in India in about 2-3 months.

You can start booking it in February, and the deliveries will start in April 2024.

This new 440cc bike will be sold through Hero’s Premia dealers and will compete with bikes like Triumph Speed 400 and Honda CB300R.

The Maverick 440 has a 440cc ‘TorqX’ engine with electronic fuel injection.

It makes 27bhp at 6000rpm and 36Nm of torque at 4000rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutch.

Royal Enfield Hunter 450

Royal Enfield is working on new bikes based on a 450cc engine. The Hunter 450 is one of them, and it looks similar to the 350cc model.

Instead of the USD, it has telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. It comes with a 452cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine making 40bhp and 40Nm.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400

Bajaj Auto has confirmed the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 this year. It’s built on the existing Pulsar frame but with more power and a larger engine.

Bajaj has different engines in the same segment, and the NS400 will likely use the 373cc engine found in the Dominar.

Triumph Thruxton 400

There’s a joint venture between Bajaj and Triumph, and they’re bringing the Speed 400 Roadster and Scrambler 400X in 2023.

They might also introduce the Triumph Thruxton 400. It looks similar to the Speed 400

and comes with a 398cc, single-cylinder TR-series engine producing 40bhp and 37.5Nm of torque.

Harley-Davidson Nightster 440

Following the success of the Harley-Davidson X440, Hero MotoCorp plans to launch more bikes with the same engine.

They’ve trademarked the Nightster 440 name in India, hinting at a second Harley model with a 440cc engine.

The Nightster 440 has a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil/air-cooled engine making 27bhp at 6000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4000rpm.
