On a Sunday, Musk teased the impending logo change by posting a short video featuring a flickering “X.”

During a Twitter Spaces audio chat, when asked about the logo change, Musk simply replied with a resounding “Yes.”

To add a touch of humor, he playfully mentioned cutting the Twitter logo off the building with blow torches, leaving the audience intrigued about the forthcoming rebranding.

Twitter has been actively promoting its premium blue subscriptions by locking some of the most popular features behind the paywall.

With this logo overhaul, the company could further refine the platform to encourage more users to embrace the subscription model.

Musk’s Twitter faces stiff competition from Meta’s Thread, a Twitter-like platform that has already amassed millions of users.

X.com redirects to Twitter.com

For now, typing “x.com” in the browser redirects to “twitter.com,” but in the days to come, Twitter is expected to make an official announcement about the branding transformation.

Musk is also contemplating changing the default platform color from white to black, exploring ways to give the platform a distinctive new look.

Musk’s History of Twitter Branding

This isn’t the first time Elon Musk has playfully experimented with Twitter’s branding.

In April 2023, the Twitter blue bird logo was temporarily replaced with the logo of Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency that Musk has been known to endorse.

However, the original logo made a swift return after just a few days.

As the world’s largest micro-blogging platform gears up for its eagerly awaited rebranding, users and investors alike eagerly anticipate the next chapter in Twitter’s evolution under the guidance of Elon Musk.
