Tata to launch New affordable Electric SUV (See Features and Specs)

Tata Motors is gearing up to dominate the electric vehicle (EV) market, starting with the introduction of its affordable electric car, the Tiago EV, in September of last year.

The company is now preparing for its launch, which is estimated to take place by mid-2023.

Recently, the Tata Punch EV was spotted undergoing road tests in India, marking its first appearance.

The government is actively supporting the EV sector by offering incentives and subsidies to both companies and customers, fostering the growth of the industry.

As a result, the market is expected to witness a surge in demand for upcoming EVs, with Tata Motors’ cars already enjoying popularity among consumers.

What to Expect from the Tata Punch EV

The Tata Punch EV is anticipated to share many similarities with its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart.

However, the electric SUV is expected to offer additional features and enhancements compared to its petrol-powered siblings.

Spy shots indicate that the Punch EV might come equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels and an electric parking brake, among other upgrades.

It is projected to come with a 25 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of approximately 250 to 300 kilometers on a single charge.

Notably, this will be Tata’s first electric car built on the ALFA platform.

In terms of performance, the electric motor is likely to deliver around 60 brake horsepower, with fast charging capabilities.

Expected Pricing of the Tata Punch EV

The upcoming Punch EV is positioned to fill the gap between the Tiago and Nexon models in Tata Motors’ EV lineup.

The estimated ex-showroom price for the Punch EV is anticipated to range from Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.

It will join other electric offerings in the market, including the Citroen eC3 and Tata Nexon EV Prime.
