Scroll down within the Quick Links section until you find the option “Know Your Refund Status.” Click on it to proceed.

Step 4: Provide Required Information

Enter the following details in the provided fields:

  • PAN number (Permanent Account Number)
  • Assessment Year
  • Mobile Number

Step 5: Verify with OTP

After entering the required information, you will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on the mobile number provided. Enter the OTP in the designated field to proceed.

Step 6: Check Your Refund Status

Once you have entered the OTP, the refund status corresponding to your PAN number and Assessment Year will be displayed.

Troubleshooting: No Record Found

If you encounter any issues related to your ITR bank details, a message stating “no record found” will appear on the screen.

In such cases, you can check your e-Filing status by navigating to the option “E-File” -> “Income Tax Return” -> “View Filed Return.”

As of July 2, 2023, approximately 1.32 crore ITRs have been filed for the assessment year 2023-24.

According to the Income Tax Portal, out of these filings, around 1.25 crore income tax returns have been verified.

It is noteworthy that only 3,973 verified ITRs have been filed for the assessment year 2023-24 so far.

By following these steps, taxpayers can conveniently track the progress of their tax refunds and stay informed about the status of their filings.
