Sahara Refund Portal: A Step-by-Step Guide for Registration and Document Submission

The recently launched CRCS-Sahara refund portal, initiated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, aims to assist nearly 10 crore depositors of Sahara Group Cooperative Societies in getting their rightful refunds.

To ensure a smooth refund process, genuine eligible depositors must register on the portal and submit their claims along with required documents.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to the registration process and the essential documents needed:

Registration Process on Sahara Portal:

  1. Visit the home page of CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal and click on “Deposit Registration.”
  2. Provide accurate details, including the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar on the registration page.
  3. Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received on your mobile.
  4. Click on “Verify OTP” to complete the registration process.

Mandatory Documents for Registration:

  1. Membership Number: You will need the membership number of the Sahara Group Cooperative Society where you made the deposit.
  2. Deposit Account Number: Ensure you have the deposit account number pertaining to your deposit with the cooperative society.
  3. Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number: Make sure the mobile number used for registration is linked to your Aadhaar card.
  4. Deposit Certificate/Passbook: Submit a copy of your deposit certificate or passbook as proof of your deposit.
  5. PAN Card: If the refundable amount exceeds Rs. 50,000, you must provide your PAN card details.

Additional Mandatory Requirements:

  1. Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account: It is crucial to have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. Without this, claim requests cannot be raised on the portal.
  2. Mobile Number Linked to Aadhaar: Ensure your registered mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar card, as it is a mandatory requirement for claim filing.

Claim Submission and Refund Process:

  1. Once you have successfully submitted your claim, you will receive an acknowledgment number for future reference.
  2. An SMS notification will be sent to your registered mobile number confirming the claim submission.
  3. The claimed refund amount will be directly credited to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account within 45 days from the date of successful claim submission.
