To alleviate this issue, Indian Railways has implemented rules that allow passengers to reschedule their journeys without incurring any additional fees.

Changing the Date on a Confirmed Ticket

According to railway regulations, it is possible to change the date on a confirmed ticket. To do so.

passengers must visit the reservation counter at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train and surrender their ticket.

At the counter, they can apply for a new travel date. Additionally, passengers have the option to upgrade their class during this process.

The requested changes in date and class can be made without any charges. However, if the class is upgraded, the fare for the upgraded class will be applicable.

Modifying the Destination Station

Passengers also have the flexibility to change their destination station to better suit their needs.

They can proceed with their onward journey by requesting a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) aboard the train and purchasing a ticket to their desired destination station.

This can be done by obtaining a ticket from the station where the journey initially commenced.

Changing the Boarding Station

Furthermore, passengers can change their boarding station by submitting an application to the Chief Reservation .

Supervisor or the Reservation Supervisor on duty before the first chart of the train is prepared.

This facility is available for both tickets booked at the reservation center and those booked online.
