OnePlus Ends Software Support for Older Phones

A Chinese tech company called OnePlus has stopped giving updates for its two old phones. This means the company won’t support these phones anymore, and they’re calling them ‘Tata-buy’.

If you have these phones, it’s time to get new ones. Since there won’t be any more updates, any problems or mistakes in these phones won’t get fixed.

OnePlus introduced its best phones, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, in April 2020. They promised to give them big updates for three years and security updates for four years.

Now, they’ve given the last update and said they won’t support them anymore.

The final update, called OxygenOS 13.1.0.587, is for Indian users. It brings the latest security update for April 2024.

This update makes the phone safer and more stable. If you have these phones, you can check for updates in the Settings.

In their last message, OnePlus thanked users who used OnePlus 8 series for four years.

They said user feedback helped make OxygenOS better. OnePlus believes user feedback is important for making good software.

Even though these old phones won’t get updates, they’ll still work. But without updates, any problems won’t get fixed, and you won’t get new software features. It’s best not to use these phones for too long.
