Gone are the days when providing your mobile phone number was mandatory.

Previously, many establishments insisted on collecting customers’ mobile numbers as a prerequisite for accessing their services.

Failure to comply often resulted in individuals being denied entry to showrooms or experiencing difficulties in obtaining service. This mandatory policy led to numerous inconveniences for people.

Under the new rules, service providers are prohibited from forcing consumers to disclose their mobile phone numbers unless absolutely necessary.

GulfHindi.com spoke to a member of the Patna Udyog Mandal who explained that mobile phone numbers would only be required in critical situations where emergency services or emergency contacts are involved, such as hospitals and healthcare services.

Restaurants, shopping complexes, and other establishments will no longer be allowed to demand mobile phone numbers in exchange for promotional offers.

Additionally, individuals will not be compelled to provide their mobile phone numbers when seeking admission to view products in showrooms.

Previously, many large showrooms required customers to register their mobile numbers before granting access, but now this practice can be regulated more effectively.
