To make traveling on the country’s first rapid rail, Namo Bharat, even easier, a new way to buy tickets is being introduced.
The NCRTC is offering a feature called “One-Tap Ticketing” through the ‘RRTS Connect’ mobile app.
It’s the first of its kind in the world! This special feature allows passengers to quickly book tickets with just one tap, from anywhere within 300 meters of the RRTS station.
QR code will be generated as soon as you click on One Tap Booking
This special feature makes things easier for you. You don’t have to type in your destination or book a ticket ahead of time to get a QR code for your trip.
Just click on “One Tap Booking” in the app, and a QR ticket will be made for your journey.
Facility to change destination
Right now, many people don’t have much time because they are really busy. It’s hard for them to plan their travels ahead of time.
To make travel easy and stress-free, NCRTC wants to help passengers. You can also change where you’re going without any problems while you’re on the journey.
This new easy one-click booking makes buying tickets faster and more convenient for travelers.
You don’t have to pick where you’re starting or where you’re going in the app to get a digital QR code when you’re buying tickets.
Most apps usually ask for the starting and ending places at the beginning of the journey, and you can’t change where you’re going once the journey starts.
You can book tickets using the ‘RRTS Connect’ mobile app
To use this new service, passengers need to download the ‘RRTS Connect’ mobile app and agree to some easy rules.
To use this service, passengers need to connect their e-wallet to the mobile app.
They must also keep a minimum amount of only Rs 100 in the e-wallet.
Mobile phone location is important
Also, passengers need to turn on the location services on their phones when using this app.
This helps the app find the location of the RRTS station for the journey when booking a ticket.
This setup is a one-time thing and makes one-tap ticket booking available for all future Namo Bharat trips.
Money will be deducted from e-wallet
Once you finish doing this, a QR code will appear with just one tap on the RRTS Connect mobile app.
This code helps you get into the RRTS station by scanning it. You can also use the same QR code to enter the RRTS station at any station along the corridor.
You can complete the journey. The required amount will be taken from your e-wallet when you leave through the gate at the destination station using the QR code scan.
You can also book tickets using these ways
To make it easy for passengers, NCRTC gives different ways to buy tickets.
You can use digital QR code tickets or choose your departure and destination with just one tap using the RRTS Connect app.
You can also use cash at Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) or get paper QR code tickets from UPI-enabled TVMs.
Tickets are part of the options. Additionally, you can also recharge your National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) using these TVM machines.
Besides that, passengers can also purchase an RRTS commuter card. This card follows the “One Nation, One Card” idea of the Government of India, and it’s a National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
It means you can use this card on all transit systems and for any card payments wherever they are accepted.
The RRTS system allows passengers to use any NCMC card nationwide right from the first day of operation for travel.
Rapid rail running between Sahibabad and Duhai depot
The first part of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is now open for people.
It’s a 17 km stretch between Sahibabad and Duhai depot, with five stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.
Last month, on October 20, Prime Minister Modi launched India’s first NaMo Bharat trains and opened the first RRTS corridor.
The goal is to have the entire 82 km corridor from Delhi to Meerut operating by June 2025.
