Jio Drops Rs 119 Prepaid Plan and introduces a New affordable Plan

Reliance Jio, a prominent telecom provider, has removed its economical Rs 119 prepaid plan from its offerings.

Initially introduced following a tariff increase in late 2021, the plan granted customers 1.5GB daily data, limitless voice calls, and 100 SMS per day for a validity period of 14 days.

However, this plan is no longer accessible across the nation.

Customers will now need to spend an extra Rs 30 for the most affordable plan.

This move mirrors Airtel’s strategy and is aimed at boosting Jio’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) statistics.

Jio’s most budget-friendly offering now stands at the Rs 149 plan. Here’s what this plan provides to customers:

Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 Plan

The Rs 149 plan from Reliance Jio has a 20-day validity. Subscribers can enjoy JioCinema, JioCloud,

and JioTV services alongside limitless voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 1GB of data every day.

Notably, this plan does not qualify for Jio’s 5G welcome offer, which provides unrestricted 5G data.

Neck-and-Neck Competition: Airtel vs. Jio’s Cheapest Prepaid Plans

The price of Jio’s new most affordable plan is very similar to Airtel’s Rs 155 plan.

For those prioritizing validity and voice call benefits, Airtel’s plan holds an advantage with its 24-day validity and unrestricted voice calls.

Nevertheless, Airtel’s plan offers a total of only 1GB data for the entire duration, whereas Jio’s plan provides 1GB data per day, albeit with a 20-day validity period.
