Citroën, the renowned French automaker, is preparing to launch a crossover sedan, codenamed CC22, in the Indian market.
This new sedan, which could potentially be named the Citroen C3X, is expected to make its debut around July 2024.
With this addition, Citroën aims to expand its product portfolio and offer competition to popular sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and the Volkswagen Virtus in the Indian market.
The C3X sedan is likely to feature SUV-inspired design elements, including high ground clearance.
Drawing inspiration from the Citroen C4X and C5X models currently available in European markets, the C3X is expected to share design cues with the C3 Aircross.
This may include a front fascia reminiscent of the C3 Aircross, showcasing several similarities between the two models.
Additionally, the C3X will boast a tapered roofline and a notchback-like tailgate.
Stylish touches like plastic cladding, alloy wheels, prominent wheel arches, and increased ground clearance will further enhance its aesthetic appeal.
The overall length of the Citroen C3X sedan is estimated to be around 4.3 to 4.4 meters, while its wheelbase is expected to be similar to that of the C3 Aircross SUV.
As for features, the C3X sedan is likely to offer a host of modern amenities, including a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, and HVAC controls.
Under the hood, the new Citroen sedan may share its platform (CMP) with the C3 hatchback.
Powering the C3X could be the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine sourced from the Citroen C3, delivering 110 horsepower.
Citroën’s upcoming sedan aims to provide customers with a compelling alternative in the midsize sedan segment, combining distinctive design elements, modern features, and competitive performance.
