Honda introduces New Electric Scooter for Youth: Check Features & Specs

Honda has made a significant move in the electric two-wheeler market in Europe by launching the 2023 Honda EM1 electric scooter.

This latest offering aims to solidify the company’s position in the market and attract younger and smaller customers.

One of the notable features of the EM1 is its Honda Mobile Power Pack-E removable battery, enhancing convenience for users.

Honda has plans to introduce 10 or more models of the Honda EM1 e Electric 2W by 2025, signaling its commitment to electric mobility.

As part of its long-term sustainability goals, Honda aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

Efficient Charging and Impressive Performance

Equipped with a lithium-ion battery, the EM1 electric scooter weighs 10.3 kg.

The battery, measuring 298mm in length, 177mm in depth, and 156mm in height, has a capacity of 1.47 kWh.

Users have the option to utilize a 270W AC charger, which enables a full charge from 0 to 100% in approximately 6 hours.

Additionally, a 25-75% charge can be achieved in just 2 hours and 40 minutes, offering flexibility for busy riders.

The EM1 is powered by a 0.58 kW (0.77 bhp) brushless hub motor, providing a top speed of 45 km/h.

In terms of range, the scooter boasts a maximum distance of 41.3 km in normal mode and an impressive 48 km in ECON mode.

Honda claims that the battery can sustain up to 2500 charge cycles, ensuring long-term durability.

Compact Design and Reliable Components

With a weight of 95 kg (including the battery), the EM1 electric scooter measures 1860mm in length, 680mm in width, and 1080mm in height.

It offers a ground clearance of 130mm, a seat height of 740mm, and a wheelbase of 1300mm.

The scooter features telescopic suspension at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, ensuring a comfortable ride.

Additionally, it is equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes, complemented by combi braking for enhanced safety.

The EM1 rides on a 12-inch front wheel and a 10-inch rear wheel.
