According to the report of TechCrunch, Google has started the pilot project of Soundbox in selected places in India.
The company has named it Soundpod by Google Pay. It is being distributed in North India, including New Delhi.
It has been told in the report that the company is giving this Soundbox to Google Pay Merchant without any additional cost.
Along with this, a time frame is set to give this Soundbox of Google Pay to another merchant. This device has a built-in speaker, LCD screen, and QR code.
Paytm and PhonePe are already offering Soundbox
This Google soundbox has a built-in speaker, which confirms UPI payment in multiple languages.
Like other soundboxes, the Soundpod also features an LCD screen that shows payment amount, battery and network status, and manual controls.
There is also a QR code on the front of this device. With this, the merchant’s phone number is registered with the bank.
Paytm and PhonePe are already providing Soundbox to their merchants.
