Go First Receives DGCA Nod to Operate 114 Daily Flights

After a temporary suspension of services since May 3, Go First is gearing up to recommence its air services.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which regulates civil aviation in India, has granted approval to the low-cost airline to operate 114 daily flights with 15 aircraft.

However, certain conditions have been imposed by DGCA in connection with the approval.

Go First had suspended operations and applied for insolvency resolution, citing non-supply of engines by American company Pratt & Whitney as the reason for halting its services.

DGCA’s Approval and Stipulations:

The DGCA has issued an official release confirming its approval of Go First’s plans to restart services. The airline will be allowed to operate 114 flights daily using 15 aircraft.

However, the approval is subject to the decisions of the Delhi High Court and any pending petitions or applications in NCLT-Delhi.

Go First is required to comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements and ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft used in its operations.

Resolution Professional’s Role and Special Audit:

The resolution professional (RP) of Go First presented the resolution plan to the DGCA on July 28, which led to a special audit conducted by the regulator.

The special audit encompassed Go First’s facilities in Mumbai and Delhi.

The airline has informed that the DGCA has acknowledged that the issues raised during the special audit have been adequately addressed by Go First, paving the way for the resumption of services.

As Go First makes arrangements depending on fund availability and the DGCA flight schedule, travelers can anticipate the airline’s return to the skies in the near future, pending fulfillment of all necessary requirements and approvals.
