E-Shram Card: Register Online on Shram Portal to get Insurance Benefits

E-Shram Yojana was started in the year 2020. The government has launched this scheme to provide financial security to those working in the unorganized sector.

Besides financial assistance from the central government, accident insurance of Rs 2 lakh is given.

By November 2022, about 28.42 crore people in the country had got E-Shram Cards made.

Any Indian citizen working in the unorganized sector aged between 16 to 59 years can be registered in this scheme.

To take advantage of the scheme, registration has to be done by visiting the official website of the e-sham portal, eshram.gov.in.

Unorganized sector workers include shopkeepers/salespeople/helpers, auto drivers, puncture makers, cowherds, dairymen, cattle rearers,

paper hawkers, Zomato and Swiggy, Amazon, Flipkart delivery boys, brick kiln workers laborers, etc., are included. All these people can get an e-labor card made.

What are the benefits of an e-labor card?

Registered workers on the e-Shram portal get an accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh.

This means that if the laborer becomes a victim of an accident, in case of death or disability, an amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to them.

In case of partial disability, assistance of one lakh rupees is provided.

For online registration on the portal, one should have an Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account, and mobile number.

It is also necessary to link mobile numbers with Aadhaar.

How to apply online?

1. Go to the official website of the e-labor portal, eshram.gov.in.

2. Click on the Register on e-Shram option on the home page.

3. Fill in the information asked when the new page opens.

4. After filling in the information, an OTP will come on the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. Enter the.

5. Now, the registration form is visible. Fill it.

6. Upload the documents which have been asked for.

7. After uploading the documents, check the form once to see whether the information you have filled in is correct.

8. Now submit the form.

9. A ten-digit E-Labour Card will be issued after completing the registration process.
