Budget 2024: Finance Minister announces construction of 2 Crore more Houses under PMAY (G)

PM Awas Yojana: Many people dream of having their own house, and some can make it happen. However, some people don’t have enough money to build their own homes.

To assist such individuals, the Central and State Governments have programs that provide financial help for housing.

The central government, through the PM Awas Yojana, supports the poor in building houses.

Now, there’s a significant announcement in the Union Budget stating a plan to construct millions more houses under this scheme in the next five years.

Finance Minister announced

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked about all the plans of the Central Government in her budget speech.

She also mentioned the PM Awas Yojana. In her speech, the Finance Minister said, “Despite the challenges from Covid, we are close to finishing the goal of building three crore houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).

Due to more families needing homes, we will begin building two crore more houses in the next five years to meet this demand.”

How much help do you get?

The government is going to build two crore more houses under the PM Awas Yojana because there are more families now.

In this program, the government helps build a permanent house by providing financial assistance.

They give Rs 1,20,000 for building a house in plain areas and Rs 1,30,000 in hilly areas. This scheme is for financially weak people.

As per the details from the government, approximately three crore permanent houses have been constructed or are in the process of being built through this program.

You have the option to apply for this initiative either online or offline.

If you are unfamiliar with the online application process, you can visit the nearest Panchayat office, inquire about it, and submit your application with the assistance of the Panchayat officer.
