Banks to Deactivate Incomplete KYC FASTags by January 31, 2024

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started a new program called “One Vehicle, One Fastag” to make paying tolls easier and faster.

NHAI wants to ensure that people don’t use the same FASTag for different vehicles or have multiple FASTags for one vehicle.

NHAI announced that FASTags not completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) process by January 31 will be deactivated by banks.

Users need to complete KYC as per RBI guidelines, and NHAI emphasizes that incomplete KYC will result in deactivation after January 31, 2024.

To avoid any issues, NHAI advises users to complete KYC for their FASTags.

How to Check FASTag KYC Status

1) Visit the customer web portal: https://fastag.ihmcl.com.

2) Log in using your registered mobile number and password or opt for OTP-based validation.

3) Once logged in, go to the Dashboard menu and select the “My Profile” option on the left side.

4) The “My Profile” page will show your KYC status and all the profile details submitted during registration.

If your KYC is pending

1) In the “My Profile” page, click on the ‘KYC’ tab.

2) Choose your “Customer Type.”

3) Fill in the mandatory fields with the required ID proof and address proof documents.

4) Upload a passport-size photograph and address details as per your proof.

5) Your KYC will be updated after completing these steps.

Documents Required for FASTag KYC

As per RBI guidelines, use one of these documents for FASTag KYC:

1) Passport

2) Voter ID Card

3) Aadhar Card

4) Driving License

5) PAN Card

6) NREGA Job Card (signed by a state government official)

7) RC (Vehicle Registration Certificate) along with KYC documents.

How to Update FASTag KYC Offline

To update KYC offline

1) Visit the nearest FASTag issuing bank.

2) Fill out the application form.

3) The bank will update the new data in your FASTag account.

You can also seek assistance from the Relationship Manager at the bank for updating KYC in FASTag.
