Who Decides Bank Holidays?

Bank holidays in India are determined by the Reserve Bank of India. These holidays, which include the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, apply to all types of banks, including private, government, co-operative, rural, and regional banks.

The second and fourth Saturday bank holidays are uniform for all private and public sector banks across all states and union territories in India, occurring consistently on these days.

Internet Banking and ATMs Remain Accessible

While banks are closed on holidays, internet banking services remain available, with the exception of transactions through RTGS transfer mode.

Other banking services like NEFT, IMPS, mobile banking, and UPI payment services continue to function as usual.
