Airline companies in India hiked Flight Prices; fares almost Doubled

Airlines have almost doubled the fares due to the spurt in demand during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Where there has been an increase of about 50 per cent in the food on the Delhi-Mumbai route.

And on the Mumbai-Goa route, there has been an increase of up to 90 per cent in fares.

After checking the websites of various companies, it has come to light that the airfares for this period have increased by an average of 30 to 40 per cent.

At the same time, there has been an increase of more than 50 per cent in the fares on routes like Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Chennai and Delhi-Bengaluru.

In the new year season, the Delhi-Mumbai food runs around Rs 14,000 to Rs 27,000, which was between Rs 15,000 to Rs 27,000 in November.

At the same time, the fare on this route has increased up to three times compared to September. In September, the food on this route was close to Rs 5,500.

Similarly, the fare on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route has increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 14,000, which was an average of Rs 2,000 in September.

At the same time, the fare on the Delhi-Kolkata route has also increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 22,000, which was close to Rs 10,000 in September.

Other ways like Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Delhi-Kolkata, Kolkata-Guwahati, Bengaluru-Kolkata and Delhi-Goa have also seen fares increase by 50 to 90 per cent, according to the data.

Fares increased on international routes as well

An increase in fares is also being seen on international routes. Fares on India to New York, London and Dubai routes have increased by up to 50 per cent.

Experts in the aviation sector say that foods often increase during peak hours and holidays, which is also happening this year.

He says that at such times airlines increase fares on domestic and foreign routes.
