AI Training: Microsoft to Train 20 Lakh Indians

The head of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, is currently visiting India.

Microsoft will teach AI to 20 lakh Indians

During his visit, Satya Nadella made a big announcement. He said that Microsoft will teach AI skills to more than 2 million people in India.

He mentioned that this is Microsoft’s promise to help the future workforce in India and to create more jobs.

AI needs people, says Finance Minister

After presenting the country’s budget on February 1st, India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned in an interview with Hindustan Times that AI might increase unemployment.

But she also said that humans will still be needed to use AI. Satya Nadella’s announcement supports this idea.

It suggests that in the future, it will be important for people in India to learn AI skills to find jobs.

Nadella expressed, “I’m excited to introduce a new plan for skill development. We’ll be teaching AI skills to about 20 lakh people in India.

Satya Nadella impressed by Kaarya

He also mentioned being impressed by Kaarya, an Indian company. Kaarya uses Microsoft Research to create job opportunities in rural India.

After seeing Kaarya’s work, Satya Nadella believes they can provide good jobs in rural India by using AI opportunities.
