Track Your Passport Application Status Online: Steps to Stay Updated

If you have applied for a passport online, you can easily check its current status using your phone or laptop. Keeping an eye on your passport application is now simple and convenient.

Here’s how you can track your passport status online.

Using the Passport Seva Website

1. Go to Passport Seva Website.
2. Click on “Track Application Status”.
3. Enter your 15-digit File Number and date of birth.
4. Click on “Track Status”.
5. Your application status will appear on the screen.

Using the Passport Seva Mobile App

1. Download the Passport Seva App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Login to the app.
3. Click on “Application Status”.
4. Enter your File Number and Date of Birth.
5. Click on “Track Status”.
6. Your application status will appear on the screen.

Other Methods to Track Passport Status

1. SMS: Type the 15-digit File Number and send an SMS to 51969 from your registered mobile number. You will receive an SMS with the application status.
2. IVRS: Call 1800-258-1800 (Toll Free) or +91-11-24300666 (Landline). Follow the IVRS instructions. Enter your File Number and Date of Birth. Your application status will be communicated to you.
3. PSK: You can also check the application status by visiting your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).

Important Information

Police Verification (PV) and Passport Office (PO) Verification (PoV): After submitting the application, PV and PoV may take some time.

Printing and Delivery: After approval, it may take 3-4 weeks for the passport to be printed and sent by post.

Applying for a Passport

1. Visit the Passport Seva Website.
2. Click on “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport”.
3. Fill out the online form and upload the required documents.
4. Schedule an appointment and pay the fee.
5. Visit the PSK on the appointment date and get your biometrics captured.

Additional Tips

Ensure you bring all necessary documents to your PSK appointment. Biometrics capture is mandatory and must be done at the PSK on the appointment date.
