In anticipation of Diwali, the Yogi government has introduced a one-time solution scheme to assist the state’s electricity consumers.
The scheme will span 54 days, from November 8 to December 31, 2023, divided into three phases:
Phase 1: November 8-30 Phase 2: December 1-15 Phase 3: December 16-31
The scheme primarily targets domestic consumers and farmers, offering them significant benefits:
1) 100% surcharge exemption
2) The option to pay dues in up to 12 installments
Discounts and Payment Options
1) Various categories of consumers, including domestic, commercial, private institutions, tube well users, and industrial consumers, will receive a refund on surcharge amounts.
2) Discounts apply for lump sum or installment payments.
3) Consumers with loads up to one kilowatt can get surcharge exemption by paying their dues in full by December 15.
The discount percentage decreases with each phase.
Installment Payment Option
1) Consumers can choose to pay their bills in installments, with a limited number of allowed defaults.
2) Online payment methods are available for availing discounts.
3) Consumers can request bill corrections online if necessary.
This scheme aims to provide relief and flexibility to electricity consumers ahead of the festive season.
