Using the app becomes even more fun for users in such a situation. Many new features are ready to come on the platform to enhance the experience of its users.
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will give users the ability to report status updates on desktop beta.
According to the WABetaInfo report, the new feature will allow users to write status updates (WhatsApp Status Update Feature) in a new menu in the status section.
Suppose users spot any suspicious status update that may violate the Terms of Service. In that case, they can report it to the moderation team with a new option.
Like writing messages, status updates will be forwarded to the company for moderation reasons so they can see if a violation has occurred.
However, this feature does not break end-to-end encryption. No one can see the contents of users’ messages and listen to their private calls, not even WhatsApp and Meta.
Still, the company must introduce the report option to keep the platform and users safe.
The ability to report status updates is reportedly under development. It may soon be released as a new update for WhatsApp Desktop Beta.
Last month, WhatsApp rolled out a new feature for some beta testers, allowing users to view profile photos in group chats on a desktop.
