In the recent past, many people have been bothered by spam calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp.

Now, it appears that the messaging platform has found a solution to help users tackle these unwanted calls.
WhatsApp announced on Tuesday that it is introducing two new updates,
enabling users to mute calls from unknown individuals and enhancing privacy through a “Privacy Checkup” feature.
The mute unknown calls feature aims to provide users with more privacy and control over incoming calls.
According to WhatsApp, this feature automatically blocks spam, scam, and calls from unknown sources.
When such calls are received, the user’s mobile device will not ring, but the calls will be listed in the user’s call history.
This is important because some of these calls may be significant or relevant to the user.
Our team at Gadgets 360 Hindi tested this feature and found it available in the current stable versions of WhatsApp.
Enabling this feature ensures that users will not be bothered by calls from unknown numbers. However, these calls will still be visible within the app and the notification area.
This means that if an unknown call becomes urgent, users will have the option to answer it.
To enable this feature on an Android smartphone, follow these steps:
1) Open the WhatsApp app and click on the three dots at the top.
2) A small window will appear, and at the bottom, you’ll find the Settings option. Click on it.
3) In the Settings menu, select Privacy.
4) Scroll down and click on the Call option at the bottom.
5) Here, you’ll find the option to Silence Unknown Callers. Enable it.
In addition to the call muting feature, WhatsApp is also launching another feature called Privacy Checkup.
This feature aims to provide users with information about the security measures available on WhatsApp.
With Privacy Checkup, people can learn more about the various security options and measures that can be taken to protect their privacy on the platform.
