WhatsApp Ending Support for THESE Smartphones on October 24

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is discontinuing its service on 25 smartphones, including Samsung, Apple, and Sony devices, starting October 24.

The company’s decision to drop support for these phones is aimed at providing users with the latest features on more up-to-date operating systems.

After October 24, WhatsApp will no longer work on smartphones running Android OS versions 4.1 and older.

To continue using WhatsApp and receive the latest updates and security patches, users will need to switch to a device with a newer operating system, as per the company’s guidance.

The following smartphones will no longer support WhatsApp:

1. Samsung Galaxy S26. Grand S Flex ZTE11. HTC One16. Motorola Droid Razr21. Acer Iconia Tab A5003
2. Nexus 77. Grand X Quad V987 ZTE12. Sony Xperia Z17. Sony Xperia S222. Samsung Galaxy S
3. iPhone 58. HTC Desire 50013. LG Optimus G Pro18. Motorola Xoom23. HTC Desire HD
4. iPhone 5c9. Huawei Ascend D14. Samsung Galaxy Nexus19. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.124. LG Optimus 2X
5. Archos 53 Platinum10. Huawei Ascend D115. HTC Sensation20. Asus Eee Pad Transformer25. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3

WhatsApp’s advice is to upgrade your device before October 24 to continue using the app.

Failing to do so will result in no further updates or security patches from WhatsApp, potentially leaving users vulnerable to security risks.

Most of these phone models are considerably old, and few people still use them today. If you have one of these devices, it’s a good time to consider upgrading to a newer model.

Keep in mind that WhatsApp won’t stop working on these phones after October 24, but you won’t receive important updates necessary for your security.
