San Francisco: According to reports, WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is currently testing a new feature called “reply with a message” in call notifications for select Android beta testers.
The company has stated that the feature will be made available to a larger audience in the next few days.
As per WABetaInfo, the new feature will enable WhatsApp users to reject an incoming call while also sending a message to the caller without any hassle.
When receiving a call, users will now see a “reply” button added to the notification interface, which will appear next to the usual “decline” and “answer” options.
According to the report, if a user opts for the “reply” button, the incoming call will be declined, and a message box will open up automatically, enabling the user to send a prompt message to the caller.
The new feature can prove to be useful in circumstances where a user is unable to attend an incoming call, such as during a meeting, but still intends to recognize the caller and communicate that they will get back to them as soon as possible.
In the meantime, WhatsApp has disclosed that users can now access the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices via the newly launched multi-device login feature.
Up to four additional devices can now be connected to a user’s primary phone.
According to the company, this update has already been released to users worldwide, and it will be accessible to all users over the next few weeks.
