India’s aviation industry is experiencing rapid growth, with various airlines, including Air India, focusing on expanding their fleets.
Joining the trend, Vistara has recently announced its plans to bolster its aircraft fleet.
In the current financial year, Vistara aims to incorporate a total of 10 new aircraft.
Simultaneously, the company intends to recruit over 1,000 additional staff members.
A senior executive from Vistara disclosed that the airline has deferred its plans to commence flights to the United States.
Presently, Vistara operates with a fleet of 61 aircraft and employs more than 5,200 individuals.
The proposed merger of Vistara and Air India is also under consideration.
CEO Provides Updates
Vistara’s CEO, Vinod Kannan, shared valuable insights during a recent interaction, highlighting the availability of skilled pilots and crew members for recruitment, following the cessation of operations by GoFirst.
Kannan mentioned that, similar to Air India and IndiGo, Vistara has successfully hired some of them.
Emphasizing the importance of recruiting the right individuals in appropriate numbers, he assured that the airline is following standard procedures, attracting highly talented professionals.
To date, approximately 50 pilots from GoFirst have been onboarded by Vistara.
10 New Aircraft to Strengthen Fleet
Expanding on their hiring plans, Kannan revealed that Vistara intends to add a total of 10 aircraft to its fleet this fiscal year.
This expansion will necessitate the hiring of around 1,000 new employees.
The joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, Vistara, currently operates a fleet of 61 aircraft, all of which are actively flying.
