The Vande Bharat Express trains have become very popular among the people of India, and passengers are appreciating each route immensely
The significance of the Vande Bharat trains is such that every route is inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, either in person or virtually.
The Indian Railways is placing a significant emphasis on these trains and plans to add 300 more trains in the upcoming years while rapidly introducing new routes.
Initially launched in 2018 with a single route, Vande Bharat Express now operates on 14 routes across India, with the latest addition of four new routes in April 2023 alone.
In a recent development, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 14th Vande Bharat Express train in India, which runs on the Ajmer-Jaipur-Delhi Cantt route.
This train is a first for the state of Rajasthan and is also the world’s first semi-high-speed passenger train running on the high-rise overhead electric (OHE) territory.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the train virtually, and it commenced its inaugural run from Delhi Cantt to Jaipur, followed by the regular Ajmer-Delhi daily run.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated two Vande Bharat Express trains on the same day, marking the 12th and 13th semi-high speed trains in India.
During his recent trip to Tamil Nadu, he inaugurated the Chennai-Coimbatore (Kovai) Vande Bharat Express, and also flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express on the same day.
At the beginning of the month, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, which set a new speed record and became the fastest train in India, reaching a maximum speed of 160 kmph on the Agra-Nizamuddin stretch of the Indian Railways.
