In Uttar Pradesh, there is a new program called Kanya Sumangala Yojana by the government.
It helps girls by giving them money. Before, it was Rs 15,000, but now it’s increased to Rs 25,000. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, announced this.
The government wants to help girls become educated and independent. The program pays for everything from when a girl is born until she gets married.
Here’s how the money is given
1) When a girl is born: Rs 5,000 is put in her guardian’s account.
2) When she is one year old: Rs 2,000.
3) When she starts first class: Rs 3,000.
4) When she goes to sixth class: Rs 3,000.
5) When she goes to ninth class: Rs 5,000.
6) If she does college or a course: Rs 7,000.
This is for two daughters in a family. The government thinks this will help girls not face money problems.
To get this help, you must live in Uttar Pradesh and have a permanent address.
The family’s income should not be more than Rs 3 lakh. You can open accounts for up to two daughters.
To apply, go to the website sky.up.gov.in, click on Citizen Service Portal, fill in the form with your details, and submit.
You’ll get an OTP on your mobile, enter it, and your registration is done. Log in, upload your documents, and submit.
