In a significant development, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that more than 100 million students have successfully registered with the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
The Chairman of UGC, M Jagadesh Kumar, emphasized the importance of student registration with ABC as a crucial step towards establishing a student-friendly and flexible credit system in India.
Highlighting the remarkable achievement, Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the massive registration count.
Launched in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020, the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) serves as a digital repository for students to store all their credits acquired during their higher education journey.
Since December 2022, UGC has been in contact with affiliated universities and colleges,

The Academic Bank of Credits will facilitate credit verification, accumulation, redemption, and certification of academic awards for students.
