Uber is committed to providing employment opportunities in the region.
Prabhjit Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, mentioned that this expansion not only enhances mobility options for tourists and pilgrims but also creates income opportunities for local residents.
Currently, Uber operates in 125 cities across the country, and the expansion into Ayodhya aligns with the company’s growth plans in India.
The focus is on promoting tourism and fostering sustainable economic development in Ayodhya.
In a recent move to broaden its user base, Uber has started testing flexible pricing in several Tier 2 and 3 cities.
This allows riders in cities like Aurangabad, Ajmer, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Bareilly, Gwalior, Indore, Jodhpur, and Surat to negotiate fares for their journeys.
The initiative, which began in October last year, is part of Uber’s efforts to cater to a wider audience and enhance its presence in various regions.
