Truecaller has added two new features for people in India. One is call recording, and the other is a transcription feature that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI).
These features were first introduced in the US in June 2023, and now they’re available in India too.
Both Android and iPhone users can use these features, but they have to pay for them.
With these features, users can record their incoming and outgoing calls directly in the Truecaller app.
The app can also transcribe the calls into text using AI. This is helpful because users won’t need to use other apps for call recording.
For iPhone users, the process is a bit different. They need to tap ‘Record Call’ on the search page and then make the call.
After that, they merge the calls and start recording. Android users have a recording button in the TrueCaller Dialer, making it easier.
Once the call is over, users will get a notification when the transcription is ready.
They can listen to the recordings, rename them, delete unwanted ones, or share them with other apps.
Some phones, like Google Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy models, already have a built-in transcription feature.
But for those who don’t, they can use Truecaller by paying for it. In India, the cost starts at Rs 75 per month or Rs 529 per year.”
