TRAI set to launch DND App Service for Android users in March 2024

There’s good news for mobile phone users in India! A new service called DND, which stands for Do-Not-Disturb, will start in March 2024.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is launching this service for Android smartphone users.

People have been asking for this service for a long time, and now it’s finally happening for Android users.

Who can use it? At first, only Android users will be able to use the DND service. Unfortunately, iPhone (iOS) users will have to wait because Apple didn’t allow access to the call log for the app.

But Secretary V Raghunandan says they’re working on starting the DND service for iOS devices soon.

What’s the benefit? Once the DND app service is available, you won’t have to deal with unnecessary messages and calls.

Fake calls and messages have become a big problem, and TRAI is introducing this app-based solution to tackle that.

TRAI is testing the DND service in a pilot project to fix any issues before making it available to everyone in March.

How does it work? The DND app needs access to your mobile phone’s call log. This way, the app can figure out which calls and messages on your phone are fake, helping you avoid them.
