Toyota Set to Launch New SUV: Mini Fortuner to Hit the Market in 3 Days

Toyota, the renowned Japanese car manufacturer, is determined to strengthen its presence in the compact SUV segment.

With this goal in mind, the company is preparing to unveil its revamped Urban Cruiser, a formidable competitor to vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The highly anticipated SUV is set to launch on May 15. However, initially, it will be introduced exclusively in international markets.

Expectations are high for the incorporation of advanced features in Toyota’s new SUV, which is likely to offer both petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrain options.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Icon: A Feature-Packed Rival

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Icon is expected to measure around 4.3 meters in length, similar to the Hyundai Creta.

With a wheelbase of 2,655 mm, it surpasses the Creta’s wheelbase of 2,610 mm. On paper, the Urban Cruiser Icon appears to be larger than its rival, further enhancing its appeal.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Icon SUV is speculated to be available with powertrain options including a 1.0-liter turbo petrol motor, a 1.2-liter petrol motor, and possibly a 1.5-liter petrol motor.

Both standard and hybrid variants may be offered with the 1.5-liter engine. As for the Indian market, the launch of Toyota’s new compact SUV is uncertain at this time.

Toyota’s Strong Presence in India

Toyota already has the successful Hyryder in its lineup, consistently achieving strong sales each month.

Additionally, the company faces a significant backlog of orders for models such as the Innova Highcross and the Innova Crysta, with waiting periods ranging from 6 to 12 months.

Toyota has also collaborated with Maruti to supply the Grand Vitara, which has emerged as the country’s second-best-selling compact SUV.

While Toyota’s new compact SUV may not be introduced in the Indian market in the near future, the brand’s existing offerings and strategic partnerships have solidified its position in the country’s automotive landscape.

Enthusiasts and prospective buyers will eagerly anticipate further updates on the international launch of the Mini Fortuner, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Toyota’s latest addition to the SUV segment.
